Ecwid allows you to add custom product attributes that can be mapped and applied through your Wherehouse integration. These fields are useful for setting up rules or passing unique data between Ecwid and your connected sales channels.
For example:
  • An attribute called “Takealot Price” – lets you set a custom price in Ecwid that Wherehouse will sync to Takealot instead of using the default Ecwid Selling Price
  • An attribute called “Sync to Marketplaces” where you can input “TRUE” or “FALSE” to specify whether Wherehouse should sync a product to marketplaces

Creating a New Product Attribute in Ecwid:

1️⃣ In your Ecwid admin, go to Settings → Product Types

2️⃣ On the left, select the relevant product type
3️⃣ Click + Add New (or use an available empty field)

4️⃣ Enter the attribute name, e.g. “Takealot Price
5️⃣ In the Show dropdown, select “Do not show” to keep the attribute hidden from your storefront
Hidden attributes will be displayed in your Ecwid admin only (and can be ingested into Wherehouse), but will remain invisible on the product pages of your online store
6️⃣ Click Save

💡
If you use multiple product types, repeat these steps for each type where the attribute should be available.

Adding Values to Your New Attribute:

1️⃣ In your Ecwid admin, go to Catalog → Products.

4️⃣ Enter a value for your custom attribute
✏️ e.g. Takealot Price: 699
5️⃣ Click Save

You’ve now set up and populated a custom attribute in Ecwid.
Wherehouse can map this field to your chosen platform and apply your custom sync rules. Just reach out to your onboarding consultant to capture the relevant rules for your account.
